Do you agree that some corrupted JPGs just can’t be fixed at all...a while back i had the "windows photo viewer can't open this picture because either photo viewer doesn't support this format” problem...i tried literally everything! But nothing would work

Ris, are you sure that the contents of the file is actually JPG data? Sometimes people recover overwritten files and wonder why they are corrupt and not repairable.

Agreed, "tried everything" equals zero relevant info. And yes, of course some JPGs can't be repaired. It becomes less likely with each bit of info corrupt/lost that it can be repaired.

Certain broken JPG can be fixed, but some may be too damaged. Use trusted software or services made for fixing and recovering photos. Avoid regular compressors because they can make the picture worse. Many images get damaged when compressed with the wrong algorithm. I suggest using this JPEG Compressor tool for better results.
