Just when I think I have seen it all, we get another Seagate Grenada DM series drive with a completely different issue, although the symptoms are the same.

A year after the fact, we finally now have a solution and were able to fully recover this client's data.

In going back on my notes, I thought it might be a good idea to post some general details about what the issue was with this drive.

1. This model of Seagate Grenada was one of the earlier models where terminal access to the SA was locked down.
2. The underlying issue, after getting terminal access was resolved by disabling media cache and clearing the glist
