Once data is overwritten, it's gone forever. So if you've only got 2Gb of unallocated space, that's the maximum amount of data that can be recovered (and that doesn't even account for fragmentation). During that time from January to April, all the data being created was overwriting the deleted files.

Still, you can't argue with Apex Tool Lab's pricing for such tools.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's one of these pairs here:
But, I've not yet seen this PCB in person, so I can't say for certain.

Re: Need help recovering data from neighbors Security Camera Hardrive...its complicated
DVRs are pretty much all using proprietary methods of data storage. They won't even contain any standard file system in most cases. You'd need software that's specifically designed for recovering DVRs, but that's going to cost you thousands of dollars and may not even work (most commercial software ...

Re: WD10JPLX-00MBPT0 -> Hitachi Rebranded
At least they are recognizing that HGST are better quality drives and selling them as their Black series and enterprise series drives.
Just last week I pulled some 4Tb drives from a mix-matched NAS that had failed. They were labeled as WD Red drives, but were clearly HGST as well.

Re: Apple Fusion Drives
I have tested it, and things just don't line up and make any sense. I've even taken and written a huge file consisting of a pattern of counting LBA values to the volume, and the values after I analyze in HEX are all over the place. Data that should be at the end is near the beginning (probably the w...

Re: JPEG Photo Repair
I've actually gotten pretty fast at repairing jpgs with bad sectors. I'd say I can repair a file with 3 or 4 bad sectors in around 5-6 minutes total. I've been offering this service for a while now: https://www.data-medics.com/jpeg-jpg-re ... -recovery/
