Re: Recover .mp4 file from WD with bad sectors
First off, if the data is of value, it is probably better to take it to a recovery professional before further damage is caused. It sounds like the heads are starting to crash and the more it is powered on, the more damage that is being caused. But, with the idea that you don't care if you completel...

HDS721010KLA330 Head Maps
I posted about this on the Ace forums a while back and thought I'd post a summary here after encountering a second drive with the same symptoms. These drives have 10 heads and when mirroring in DE, the 10th head is not reading any sectors. I was unable to find a solution for the first drive with the...

Re: Spark vs. Rapidspar
It should be noted that neither of these tools are meant to be used as an alternative to professional data recovery tools like DeepSpar Disk Imager and PC3000. As you already opened the drive, can you post a picture of the inside of the drive too?

Re: OS
I guess, at the end of the day, we just need to work with what is best for getting the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Now that UFS offers a file listing ability, we need not worry about the lack of support for SNAP2HTML within Linux too.

Re: OS
This sub is fine. As for OS, I suspect that most of us would like to completely move over to Linux, but that is a lot easier said than done. I have several systems with Windows installed (PC3K Express, PC3K UDMA-E, PC3K-Flash, MRT & file system recovery), a couple of mac books for Mac OS and a f...
